Can it really be 25 years? It seems so, and though the Picket has had some ups and downs over that quarter of a century it’s still going strong, keeping the Baltic Triangle flames burning among the wilds of Jamaica Street and surrounding area.
This short film gives an overview of the Picket, it’s relationship with trades unions and various famous popular beat combos and its significant legacy to the city.
It’s also designed to preface a book, On Music’s Front Line: 25 years of the Picket, Liverpool. If you’d like to contribute a memory or anecdote head over to the Facebook group.
