What do you know it – just when you’re waiting for one exhibition, two come along. Sod’s law. The Bluecoat’s winter exhibitions kick off on 22nd January with an evening launch party, and they sound decent. The snappily titled ‘Left Hand to Back of Head, Object Held Against Right Thigh’ is a group exhibition exploring how viewers experience art – delving into sensory and emotional worlds. There’s also a crab involved by the looks of things. Elsewhere, ‘Fallible Space’ by painter/printmaker Melissa Gordon shows off her unique take on presenting work, with the exhibition – and hanging of the work – being “activated” by a live physical theatre performance of Mina Loy’s ‘Collison’ on launch night. Intriguing.
22nd January, from 6pm
the Bluecoat, School Lane
‘Left Hand…’ until 28 March, ‘Fallible Space’ until 31 Jan
