Savages

ALBUM While we’re banging on about Savages, they were easily in our top five performances at this past weekend’s huge Sound City festival. And their debut album, ‘Silence Yourself’, is out now. Thea Gilmore – 10th May, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall

GIG Far too clever to be lauded by the Arena crowds, Northwich’s Thea Gilmore has been crafting hook-laden, and critically lauded contemporary folk for a decade or so. The Wild Writers’ Imaginarium – 11th May, Drop The Dumbells

EVENT This new, curious sounding cross-discipline night pops up at the excellent Dumbells space later this week – we’re promised storytelling, art, puppetry, vending machines (?!) and DJs later on. Intriguing. Facebook event

RIBA Liverpool Tours

TOUR We went on one of the newly-returned RIBA Tours last week, and had a brilliant morning, exploring and learning the city we thought we knew. We took their ‘Gateway to the World’ tour, weaving in and out of the waterfront, and the UNESCO listed Maritime Mercantile city. En route we spied naughty cupids, hidden statues and secret messages written into the fabric of the city. Recommended. More information
