Liverpool ONE’s reading trees, from 23rd April

EVENT The city’s month long ‘In Other Words’ literary festival is celebrated in Liverpool ONE with a series of 2.6metre high ‘reading trees’, made by artists from the Kazimier, complete with stocked books and seats. Sort of like an Alice In Wonderland-style lunch break library, we guess. Sounds good to us. Readers are also encouraged to leave or swap books across the four trees. More information

‘New Poets’ at Elevator Cafe, 27th April

Natalie McCool album launch, 27th April

GIG The exciting Natalie McCool launches debut LP at the Picket this Saturday, hosted by Milk. It’s a stirling lineup, too: as well as McCool and her band previewing tracks from her chillingly brilliant full-length (think Fleetwood Mac after a binge on Kate Bush’s back catalogue), support comes from Bird and Nadine Carina. Recommended. Facebook page
