It’s uncanny how similar Marcel Theroux sounds to his brother. Actually, it’s not really, they’re brothers. But take a look at the gorgeous new Guardian video, shot on a snowy day last week in and around Sefton Park in a blizzard. “I feel like I’m in a poem, rather than having to write one,” Theroux says, of his task: to get lyrical ahead of Leaf’s open poetry evening. The event, despite the weather, was a heartening affirmation of the city’s continuing love with the rhythms and rhymes of verse. “Poetry,” says Theroux, “requires balls.”

It’s a great watch. Have look here. Whether Phil Bowen knows what iambic pentameter is, though, is a moot point.
