Love your Liverpool parks

This week sees a series of events encouraging Liverpool to get out and love the city's parks.

Summer holidays eh? Screaming kids and old films on the box. Paraphrasing somewhat we’re wondering why you dont’ switch off your TV set and do something less boring instead?

The council and Liverpool PCT are encouraging people to use Liverpool’s beautiful parks with a series of events around the city designed to to coincide with the national Love Your Parks week (23-31 July) and get people of all ages active and outdoors.

There’s a photography competition, exhibitions, festivals, funfairs, music and birdwatching. As a new member of the RSPB, SevenStreets can certainly appreciate the latter, which takes place at Otterspool park and promenade.

Speaking of, worthy 80s kids’ TV Why Don’t You, whence the quote in the first para originates, was filmed at Otterspool, something of a neglected Liverpool gem.

So, yeah. Why don’t you?
