Technically, of course, we mean ‘save Urban Strawberry Lunch’, the group that curates events at St Luke’s Church and does a mean spot of gardening.
The group received a 100 per cent funding cut in the most recent round of Arts Council spreadsheets but are bouncing back with a gala evening of fundraising by super snapper troupe The Fab Collective.
The two groups have worked closely to stage exhibitions together, so instead of holding an annual
exhibition at St Luke’s – last year’s was Having A Do – the Fab Collective will be auctioning the work that would have formed the exhibition, with all cash generated on the night going to Urban Strawberry Lunch.
Nick Bray of Partridge Bray Auctioneers will conduct the pointing-and-hammering action, with Flog It’s Adam Partridge also in attendance. What’s more the excellent John Head – formerly on Shack – will be performing to help raise cash towards USL’s £35,000 shortfall.
We’ve wondered before why people don’t buy art, well here’s your chance to purchase some brilliant, original Liverpool-based wall material and help some good people out while you’re doing it.
