Birmingham’s ska survivors, UB40, head to Liverpool Cathedral this month, as Freeze A-Live (the new live music initiative from the Freeze guys who’ve been behind some of the city’s most innovative club nights) bring the crew to the Cathedral’s well on the 23rd November.
Yes, we know UB40 lost the plot somewhere in those deathly middle years, and Ali left the fold a while back, but they’re sounding fresher than ever these days, as languorous new single, Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, shows.
The group remain an irresistible live force – those thirty-odd years’ worth of performances have paid off, then. Back with their best set of songs for years, this is going to be a lot more fun than their ill-judged turn on that ship in Speed 2.
We’ve a pair of tickets to win. Simply retweet or ‘like’ on Facebook and we’ll let you know if you’ve won by Fri 15th.
