“The Secret Vintage Tea Party is a clandestine gathering, a hidden event, a fabulous afternoon tea party with a twist or two for those lucky enough to get a ticket,” Rebecca Jenkinson tells SevenStreets over Earl Grey and finger sandwiches.

“It’s a bit different to an ordinary afternoon tea as firstly it’s held at night and secondly you have no idea of its secret location in the city centre until the day before. There are a few clues given out to help you guess, but it is a closely guarded secret, even from the musician who is performing. It all adds to the atmosphere and makes for a really special night out.”

The idea sounds brilliant. And last outing, at Alma De Cuba, was a memorable evening by all accounts.

Tickets are £20.00 and include afternoon tea with a glass of champagne, sandwiches, scones, cupcakes supplied by Laura’s Little Bakery and tea all served in delicate vintage china. There will also be live music from the gorgeously jazzy Lucy Mae, and you can also ‘top up’ your ticket and add in a mini vintage craft workshop on the night by the Button Boutique.

“I love taking a venue you may be familiar with, somewhere a little unusual or not a location you’d expect to have a tea party in and transform it into a vintage tearoom complete with vintage crockery, linen and gorgeous candlelight. I’m spoilt for choice in Liverpool with all the fabulous buildings. It’s going to be amazing next week. I can’t wait…”
