What: A better counterpoint to the parallel universe of tribute bands you couldn’t hope to find. Energetic post-rock Gods, Minion TV are curating a three day festival: NewPath – a supersized version of their sweat-soaked NewPath nights – over the Mathew Street Fringe – championing electronic, rock and all manner of that ‘quiet then loud’ stuff we love.

Headlining each day, the boys have hand picked a tasty bunch of co-conspirators to add fuel to their math rock fire. Math. Post. Whatever. It’s jagged, experimental, complex and a million miles removed from the Berlin Beetles.

But it’s not all angular riffs and beaten up time signatures. We’re especially looking forward to Bristol’s ethereal shoegazers This Is My Normal State, and Japan’s winsome minimalist, kanina. After which, we’ll probably be gagging for a bit of We Came Out Like Tigers, and the metal funk of Nottingham’s Alright the Captain.
