A lovely way to cheer up a miserable Monday: Sound City delivering a bunch of great new additions to this year’s event. Thanks guys! Now we don’t have to drink the pain away.

Soul crooning BBC Sound of 2012 winner Michael Kiwanuka – who this past weekend played a sold-out show at the Kazimier – join comeback kings Mystery Jets, pop-punk legends Alkaline Trio, Slow Club, Willy Mason, The Jezebels and Ghostpoet on the bill.

There’s also a few hotly-tipped newies on the latest announcement: Alt-J and pop twosome Niki & the Dove (Niki pictured, literally with a dove) are currently sending tipsters and tastemakers into a red-faced spluttering frenzy and are both well worth checking out. The History of Apple Pie, Bear In Heaven, Folks, The Computers, Still Flyin’, Jonquil also appear. Phew.

Rap-pop star Professor Green, White Denim and Death In Vegas have previously been announced for the annual cross-city fest.

More additions expected in the next few weeks, but in the meantime you can still grab early bird wristbands for £25 until 27th Feb. Bargain.
