10533618_10152601872288799_1154784535_nIt’s back, as you know – Liverpool Music Week returns with a majorly impressive roster of acts. If we were to compile our best CDs of the year list (don’t worry, we won’t) it’s a pretty good bet that it would look something like the Liverpool Music Week line-up: Mogwai, Wild Beasts, Chvrches (main pic) Forest Swords, The War on Drugs… add to that Caribou, The Black Lips and EMA and you’ll be – as we are – grateful that LMW is overly generous about what, actually, constitutes a week. This one starts 23 October, and runs until the closing party, which is something of a stunner.

CHVRCHES will headline the Closing Party on November 1st at Camp and Furnace, with Black Lips and new Radio One’s partystarter, Nick Mulvey – founding partner of Portico Quartet.

The event starts at 4pm, across the Baltic Quarter venues, and includes Evian Christ (adding a DJ set to his previously announced LIVE AV debut show w/Caribou), SOPHIE, Nguzunguzu and EMA, and SevenStreet’s favourite Låpsley, Domino Record’s new signing, We Are Catchers and the always ace Bird.

Confirmed venues for this year’s Closing Party are Camp and Furnace, The Blade Factory, the all-new Constellations, 24 Kitchen Street, District, The Nordic Church with more to follow.

You know why we love LMW? Because it’s all about the music.
