There’s another Kukoo vintage fair this weekend in the extraordinary – and, we think, fitting – surroundings of kerrayzee Hawaiian cocktail bar Aloha.
Kukoo is not-for-profit fair designed to showcase the best of Liverpool’s local creative talent and independent sellers – and in the laid-back environs of Aloha with discounted beverages on tap this isn’t exactly wicker baskets and stodgy Victoria sponge territory.
Entry is free all afternoon, from midday and will feature cut-price cocktails and home-made sweet and savoury cakes along the various crafts on display.
And what craft. Vintage clothing and accessories, handmade jewellery, recycled crafts and a vintage 40s/50s hair-up service.
Featured stalls will include (deep breath) south Liverpool vintage clothing hang-out geek; ladies’ clothing, accessories and jewellery from LoveJo Vintage; reworked vintage jewellery and retro underwear from All About Eve; kitsch handmade polymer jewellery from PinkAngel Designs; handmade jewellery and accessories from Poppy Love; ladies’ vintage clothing from Clothes Peg Vintage and pop art, greetings cards and tattoo-inspired jewellery from Voodooville.
Gladstone Mag, a brand new quarterly promising to cover goings on in on burlesque, tattoo and music will also be present.
Ours is a slippery nipple. And we’ll want a drink too.
