Glasgow’s Holy Mountain and Rungs Play the Lomax this Thursday – two fine Scottish bands making their Liverpool debut, Holy Mountain and Rungs play their only north-west date in advance of their respective album releases.
With Glasgow’s Chemikal Underground Records, Holy Mountain take a noisy, distortion filled path. Their latest single, ‘Luftwizard (Space Wizard)’ gives a nod to some of the band’s key influences. Think Black Sabbath, MC5 and Iron Monkey. Listeners can expect a loud high-energy set from the trio.
In support are a new band called Rungs. They are formed by the ex-members of Take a Worm For a Walk Week, Lapsus Linguae, and fronted by Project Venhell vocalist Hines. The quintet specialise in nonsensical pattern and sharp guitar riffs.
Local lads, Avenging Force, complete the line-up. They play hard, fast sweaty rock which is sure to compete with the headliners in terms of on-stage intensity.
Tickets are available on the door for £4, with doors opening at 7.30pm.
