Typical. Only the other day the SevenStreets editorial team ear-marked a backstage tour of the Everyman theatre as a potential feature. And guess what, the Everyman has only gone and announced a series of free backstage tours to take place over coming weeks.

Nevermind, great minds think alike – and now you can go see for yourself, rather the relying on the jaded opinions of hacks. And there’s a presentation on the redeveloped theatre – which will consist of a 400 seat auditorium, community, rehearsal and office spaces and a pavement café, theatre bar and basement bistro – to boot.

Work is schedule to commence in spring of 2011, with the new theatre opening in 2013.

For us, and likely for many in Liverpool, the Everyman holds a lot of fond memories so why not take a tour before the old Everyman is gone forever.
