Although it might seem that we spend our weekends mooching round various food festivals, moodily reviewing bands in various basement venues or knocking back the tequila shots in Mojo (oh like you’ve never done it…) sometimes we relish the opportunity to scrub up a bit.  Go all Cinderella on yo’ ass.  Maybe even rock a tiara?  And what’s the best place to wear your ballgown?  Errr… a ball?

In this case it’s the Butterfly Ball 2011 which is being held in aid of North West Cancer Research Fund.  In the impressive setting of Lutyens Crypt at the Metropolitan Cathedral, the night promises dinner, music and merriment – what more do you require?  We’ve been tipped off that there are some pretty fancy raffle prizes up for grabs too…

So if you fancy doing something a bit more glam than lying prostrate on the sofa watching X Factor and mainlining Caramel Nibbles next Saturday, there are a few tickets left for you to join in the fun.  As a fairy godmother once said “you shall go to the ball!”.  Just remember, we bagsied the tiara first.
