Heart and Soul

Heart and Soul restaurant - still serving the people of Liverpool. Sadly, its roast cod with clam chowder isn't on the menu...

heart and soulTalking of restaurants – which we were – we still miss the lovely Heart and Soul restaurant, and, specifically, the indefatigable and wonderful Chumki, the heart and soul of, er, Heart and Soul. Well, sadly, it’s not likely to return any time soon, but Chumki does keep its website (and the restaurant’s spirit) very much alive.

We don’t do listings. But if we did, we reckon they’d be a lot like Chumki’s: on her site, Chumki rattles off her favourite upcoming events in Liverpool. As you’d expect, it’s idiosyncratic, straight from the hip and refreshingly eclectic. A bit like the restaurant. And it’s so much better than any official site in the city.
