We’re big fans of Bill Ryder-Jones (we worked with him on our You Are Here commission a couple of years ago, y’know), and it’s encouraging to see the West Kirby-based songwriter and guitarist getting some long-overdue acclaim for his solo work. Currently in the midst of a sold out UK tour, Ryder-Jones’ new album ‘West Kirby County Primary’ has had rave reviews, and rightly so – it takes Bill’s beautiful yarn-spinning and adds a dash of Pavement-style scuzzy guitar work over the top, making a fizzing, gorgeous bunch of songs. He brings his band to the Arts Club next week for a (sort of) homecoming show. Don’t miss.
