The indefatigable Artinliverpool.com hosts its third Liverpool Art Prize again this year – this time around at the fabulous Metal, on Edge Hill station. You might have had a sneak preview, if you’ve walked down past Fred Perry in Liverpool One. And you might think, as Sevenstreets does, that the competition’s gonna be a tough one this year. Which proves, like it needed it, that visual arts is alive and kicking in Liverpool. With a record breaking 95 nominations, Artinliverpool director Ian Jackson and co have whittled the list down to the final five: The 2010 finalists are Gina Czarnecki, David Jacques, James Quin, Paul Rooney (winner of the 2008 Northern Art Prize) and Emily Speed. The winner scoops £2,000, while the winner of the People’s Choice Award chosen by us, the people, gets a grand. Which don’t come for free, as you know. See what you think – the exhibition runs from Friday 4 June til 10 July Liverpool Art Prize, Metal, Platform 1, Edge Hill Station, Tunnel Road, Liverpool, L7 6ND Posted May 31, 2010 Leave a Reply Click here to cancel reply.
