Andy Gotts’ one-man crusade to photograph BAFTA winners has seen him traverse the globe numerous times, and he’s come back each time armed with beautiful portraits of actors at their most relaxed. Gotts’ work, primarily monochrome or with muted colour, captures the likes of Sir Ian McKellen, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Meryl Streep in an intimate, occasionally brutally honest, way. For a bunch of humans notoriously awkward to deal with, these A-listers all look completely comfortable and comfortable in the company of Andy, which is the true mark of a skilled and engaging portrait snapper. A real coup for the Wirral’s underrated Williamson. Hooray.
