Liverpool-based Americana UK celebrate ten years with mouth-watering line-up

Some of the biggest names in Americana are in town this weekend.

To celebrate a decade in existence, Americana UK website and magazine are throwing a party featuring a host of acts from both inside and outside of America.

The legendary leader of American Music Club, Mark Eitzel, heads up the impressive line-up at CUC on Greenland Street.

Portland, Oregon darlings Richmond Fontaine and Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Richard Buckner will also perform – while the UK alt-country movement will be represented by the dynamic Danny & The Champions of the World (pictured above), ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris favourites Redlands Palomino Company and Liverpool’s rattle ‘n’ rolling Southbound Attic Band.

Alt-country, Americana… call it what you will. We just know that the Liverpool-based website have put together a cracking array of talent and we’ll be there to enjoy some great music all day long.

Back in 2002 the original Americana One festival at The Masque was declared a massive success by The Guardian and here’s hoping this Saturday’s all-dayer follows (nudie) suit…
