Liverpool Music Week 2011 – Acts Announced

Liverpool Music Week returns to stretch the boundaries of sound and time - it's two weeks of excellent music this year. Here's the line up confirmed so far.

It’s that time of year again, well almost. Mike Deane, Liverpool Music Week’s indefatigable head honcho, has coralled a sublime set of acts, and coaxed them to the city’s spaces for a week and a bit of simply great music. This is why we love LMW: you can tell it’s run by someone who gives a damn about the music. Not the money.

Keeping the flame alive, Dean’s curated a really excellent mix of the freshest, most exciting acts – and there’s more to come. He’s even sneaked in a return to the city for the excellent – and Mercury nominated – Ghostpoet.

The annual shindig returns to the city on October 28 and runs to November 13, so yeah, not really a week at all. Which is good.

“A big chunk of the above acts will play a multi-room closing event at the CUC building,” he tells SevenStreets. “It’s gonna be great, and I’m speaking to lots of great local acts too, which we’ll announce soon,” Dean says – adding that Outfit, Hot Club and Vasco De Gama are all confirmed so far.
