Radar: Chibuku Opening Party – Win Tickets!

September is shaping up to be even hotter than summer - if the opening night's line up to Chibuku's anything to go by. Stephanie Heneghan gets officially excited...

What: So September arrives, the summer (that never was) is officially over and it’s back to school time for the kids. Time to dig out those AW11 jumpers – statement knitwear is bang on trend this season – and switch the heating on.

It’s also time for Chibuku to return to The Masque after their summer break, providing an alternative entertainment on Saturday nights to reality TV and loudly caterwauling on Singstar. Kicking proceedings off with a laughably good roster, they’ve invited new best friend Jacques Lu Cont back after his recent intimate Shipping Forecast gig (we went, it was awesomely amazing and a whole range of other assorted superlatives) with Simian Mobile Disco sharing top billing in The Theatre. Chibuku favourite Alex Metric and resident James Rand are on hand to provide warm up beats, ensuring the party atmosphere the Theatre has become synonymous with will be in evidence from the moment the doors open.

Upstairs, DJ Hype returns to blow the cobwebs out The Loft with some fierce DnB action. Accompanying the Fabric resident is IC3, with Brookes Brothers and the head honcho from Liverpool’s own Viper Recordings, Futurebound, also taking to the decks.

And for those of a more eclectic nature, INK plays host to an all night battle between Scouse stalwarts EVOL and Manchester’s Now Wave DJs. Be prepared for an anything goes genre hopping party from start to finish.

As always tickets will mostly likely sell out so be prepared and get them early, don’t come crying to us if you miss out.

Win: We’ve got two pairs tickets to win. Send an email with Jacques Lu Cont’s real name on it to info@sevenstreets.com and we’ll pick winners on September 5.
