Review

Huge barn of a place opposite the Hilton – yet, with its low lighting and split level interior, Zelig’s still pulls off a cosy, sociable atmosphere. Downstairs, you can enjoy sharing plates of bread, Italian cured meats and the like, while, upstairs, there’s a straightforward menu of meatballs, pizzas, pastas and chicken dishes. Tables can be dragged together for friendly gatherings or, at the end of the night, pushed aside for dancing to the Italian-American crooners. A lively and engaging choice.
