Radar: Ludovico Einaudi at the Phil

Cool, calm and collected, Ludovico Einaudi's dreamlike compositions are the perfect soundtrack to troubled times.

Minimalist, trance-like and hypnotic, Ludovico Einaudi is, rightly, one of the most in-demand composers of the modern age. He’s coming to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in April, showcasing his recent work, and no doubt diving into his peerless back catalogue too (including our favourite, the sublime Nightbook).

Based around a solo grand piano, with slowing building motifs, Einaudi’s work is the perfect salve for stressed-out times. Some call it ambient, we’d say that was damning it with faint praise, there’s much, much more going on here than aural wallpaper. Dive in.
