Radar: PVD Returns to Cream

The year's hottest rising star, and an all time great descend on Cream for their first show of 2013. It will sell out, that's for sure.

Cream starts the new year in style, with its first booking bringing trance god Paul Van Dyk back to the courtyard, with Nicky Romero (pic), Eddie Halliwell, Aly & Fila, Third Party, Tim Mason and guests set for an arms-in-the-air showdown next March.

To say Nicky Romero’s had a good 2012 would be something of an understatement. The Dutch DJ’s rapidly asserted himself into the house scene with his DJ and production skills, which has seen him become the highest new entry in the DJ Mag Top 100 at number 17 and performing one of this year’s stand out sets at Creamfields.

Cream favourite Eddie Halliwell, along with two of the UK’s hottest producers Third Party and Tim Mason, will be joining Romero in the main room, and Paul van Dyk makes a welcome return to the Courtyard showing others how it’s done. Expect driving trance, euphoric electronic music and a masterly set from PVD, the man some call g-o-d. Paul will be supported by trance duo Aly and Fila, Adam Sheridan and Cream resident Rob Harnetty.

— Despite strong performances and moment of beauty, The Kite Runner never develops a sense of threat or urgency that such a lengthy, weighty production requires.
