Music Lessons: Loved Ones

Debut GIT award-winning Loved Ones continue our survey of Liverpool's brightest and best music makers. And you can catch them tomorrow at Leaf.

Who are they?

Comprising members of The Laze and Seal Cub Clubbing Club, Loved Ones are somewhat of a northwestern supergroup built from disparate sources. With each member having achieved varying amounts of success in other projects, Loved Ones is perhaps a more user-friendly culmination of their past respective endeavours.

Why we approve

Having debuted their first single Hell a year ago this week, Loved Ones have had a gradual rise to prominence and this weekend will premier their new single Weekends Are Ours. Possessing a lyrical astuteness, a knack for melody and an ability to teeter on the cusp of the zeitgeist whilst maintaining a timeless quality, Loved Ones are fast becoming what their name suggests.

Sound bite

“Everything about this band is well conceived” – Chris Chadwick, Bido Lito!
