Boxing Night

Circus – Camp & Furnace

Circus’ Boxing Nights are almost as legendary as their Hallowe’en shindigs, promising you big beats to help you dance away that Christmas turkey. This year they’ve got new surroundings, setting up in the Camp and Furnace – a renovated warehouse on Greenland St – and Circus favourite Loco Dice is bringing his Desolat party to Liverpool with Art Department, Guti – Live, Tini all on board. The home team of Yousef, Lewis Boardman, Alex Wolfenden and Scott Lewis are also on the bill – we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for this so keep an eye on our Twitter account for more details.

mUmU/Berghain @ The Black-E

The Berghain is Berlin’s most notorious club where it’s an accomplishment to even get past the terrifying door whores. We doubt the bouncers on the Black-E will be quite so fearsome but the music will definitely live up to expectations – Marcel Fengler and Ryan Elliott live and breathe techno and the venue is an inspired choice. Tickets are currently flying out for this so don’t leave it too late to get involved.

Info/Tickets –

After witnessing their recent birthday party, Leaf definitely know how to have a good time and although they’re keeping their cards close to their chest DJ wise, when they say they’re going to “hurl you into the party zone” we totally believe them. Oh and it’s free!

New Year’s Eve

Chibuku – Camp & Furnace

The times they are a-changing at Chibuku – their usual residents NYE party has been given a shake up in favour of booking a few special guests – Chase and Status bossed it at their birthday party early in the year so they’re back to do the same to welcome in 2012, along with Fake Blood, Futurebound and MC Madrush. They’ve also moved house temporarily to Camp & Furnace – Greenland St is going to be very busy this December…

We missed Magnet when it closed unexpectedly and we cheered loudly when it reopened its doors a few months ago. We’ve bobbed down since and they’ve done a cracking job of fixing the faults whilst keeping it true to its former self. WELL DONE. They’ve also done a cracking job on booking a proper superstar name for their NYE shindig – Derrick Carter (pictured, top) is a House music heavyweight and if you fancy bumpity bumping in the new year Chicago style then there’s a moody basement on Hardman Street that you need to visit. Local lad Scott Lewis is providing warm up duties for the big man.

So far Mr Paul, Stevie Law, Citizen, Joe Ryan, Absense, Jimmy Allen, Buddha, William Breakspear, Tighten up DJ’s are all confirmed but they’re keeping tight lipped about their headline act until closer to the event.
